Chong Min founded CMIA Capital Partners in 2003 and has a successful track record investing across various industries and sectors in China and Southeast Asia. CMIA invests in businesses headquartered in Asia with the potential to become global or regional leaders. CMIA is headquartered in Singapore and also has offices also in both Shanghai and Chongqing in China. CMIA is a licensed and regulated fund management company in both Singapore and China.
Chong Min started his career with J.P. Morgan (1991-93) and was the Head of FX & Money Market Operations. He then joined Commercial Union Asset Management as Fund Manager covering Asia-Pacific equity and fixed income investments (1994-95) and subsequently went on to head Cargill Inc.’s Asia equity investments and trading business (1995-99).
From 1999-2003, Chong Min was an active venture capital investor and Board Director of several internet and technology businesses in China and Southeast Asia. Chong Min achieved good investment returns during this period despite the dot-com crash. He used these investment gains to establish CMIA Capital Partners in 2003.
Chong Min serves as Board Director of several CMIA portfolio companies, including Watchbox (www.thewatchbox.com) – a global leader in the media, community and e-commerce of luxury watches; Bitsmedia (www.bitsmedia.com) – the leading digital platform serving the global Muslim community, and Oneberry Technologies (www.oneberry.com) – a Singapore leader in surveillance and security technology solutions.
Chong Min also serves as Board Director of several charities in Singapore, including Methodist Schools’ Foundation and St. Francis Methodist School.
Chong Min graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the National University of Singapore.
